    Best Buy

    Production Artist

During my time at Best Buy, I was an integral member of an 18-person holiday production team. In this role, my responsibilities centered around designing a variety of print and digital advertising materials, such as flyers and signage, utilizing a digital asset management system. A key aspect of my role involved meticulously reviewing all work to ensure accuracy and consistency in alignment with production and brand standards. I was entrusted with entering revisions or corrections as needed and conducting thorough reviews of the final products prior to their release. This experience not only honed my design skills but also instilled in me a keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding the highest quality standards in every project.

    Reflection

My time at Best Buy provided valuable insights into the workings of a large, established corporation. Within a short timeframe, I had to quickly grasp their design processes and adapt them efficiently, often completing projects within a week. I discovered that I thrive on challenging myself, particularly as each flyer category demanded a nuanced design approach. Despite the constraints on creative freedom, I found satisfaction in pushing boundaries within those parameters. Moreover, I was able to sharpen my skills in InDesign, a tool I hadn’t utilized extensively prior to this role. Overall, my experience at Best Buy not only enhanced my understanding of corporate design workflows but also reaffirmed my ability to excel under pressure and innovate within limitations.
